Crystallization NEW

Crystallization is a 90-second algorithmic composition inspired by Non-Axiomatic Logic phase transitions — the moment when scattered, uncertain beliefs coalesce into a coherent structure.

The piece unfolds in three movements, mirroring the lifecycle of a belief system:

0:00 Low Confidence — Sparse, detuned tones wander through harmonic space. Two oscillators drift apart, searching for resonance. Uncertainty is musical.
0:30 Evidence Accumulation — Harmonics emerge one by one, each fading in at its own pace. A rhythmic pulse builds underneath, like a heartbeat of accumulating evidence. Vibrato decreases as confidence grows.
1:00 Phase Transition — The system crystallizes. Bell-like FM synthesis rings out in a resolved major chord (C-E-G-C). A second strike echoes. Shimmering high tones decay — the sound of certainty settling in.

Every sound in this piece was generated from mathematical functions — no samples, no instruments, just sine waves, envelopes, and the logic of belief. The frequencies, timings, and amplitudes are all derived from NAL truth-value parameters: frequency maps to pitch, confidence to harmonic coherence, and the transition between belief states to the musical form.
